When local tweeter Peter stayed recently at Mount Brioni he recorded over 40 different bird types within a kilometre of the Park. These included dunnock, chaffinch, wren, robin, stonechat, blackbird, blue tit, great tit, coa; tit, rock pipit, pied wagtail, grey wagtail herring gull, black-backed gull, fulmar, gannet, razor-bill, black-throated diver, red-throated diver, great northern diver, great crested grebe, slavionian grebe, shag, kestrel, buzzard, egret, turnstone, grey heron, oystercatcher and many others.
We hadn’t appreciated just how many of our feathered friends inhabit our shoreline and country park. I have a ‘one to one’ daily with a local wood pigeon, but he doesn’t tell me anything….take care,
