Swept up in wave of Olympic proportions, we headed for London late Saturday night, ready for the men’s marathon on Sunday. We were close to the leaders as they passed Buckingham Palace for the first time. We then moved on to Parliament Square, to participate from the comfort of the Red Lion, leaving the pub in time to watch the leaders pass through Parliament Square for the final time. All very exciting. Great runners, great crowd and a great afternoon in Oxford Street and Hyde Park, before catching the last train back to Seaton and Mount Brioni.
After the race we felt good, and as Cathy said, it was a personal best for us in our very first marathon – what are chances of that!
